BROKER24 - SOME POINTERS ON INTERNET SECURITY.

permanent tsb take the utmost care to ensure that any transactions you carry out while visiting our Internet Banking site, http://www.broker24.ie, are protected with the latest encryption and security systems available.

There are some simple precautions that you can take while using the Internet in order to protect yourself further.

  • You should ensure that your home or office PC has anti-virus software installed. This should be updated regularly.
  • Be wary of people watching your keystrokes if you are accessing secure sites at public portals or in Internet cafes.
  • Watch out for the security symbol on your screen when you log on to a secure site. This takes the form of a closed padlock, which will appear in the area beneath the page you are viewing.
  • Check the security licence of the site you are on by double clicking on the padlock. This will show you who the licence has been granted to.
  • When you are on a secure page the address of the page you are viewing should start with https: rather than http: . For example https://www.broker24.ie/Online/Login.aspx is a secure page as it is part of the broker24 login process.
  • If you visit an Internet Banking webpage that you use regularly but it doesn’t look quite right - the colours may be off or the pictures slightly fuzzy - do not log on. Instead contact the company who operates the site to be sure that everything is in order.
  • Always log off a site that you have entered personal details on as soon as you are finished.
  • Never leave your PC unattended while you are attached to a secure site.
  • Don’t tell anyone else your passwords or User ID for any websites.
  • permanent tsb will never send you an email asking you to enter your personal details, login id, password or PIN number. If you receive such an email do not reply. You should contact permanent tsb by phone immediately should you receive an email of this type.
